Your thoughts, feelings and reactions create patterns that may work, sometimes, but not all the time. This is where counseling comes in:

  • to keep you focused on the real issues
  • bring clarity and
  • identify ways to transform outworn or destructive patterns

Your past can inform you, or it may cause you to react in ways that keep you stuck. Telling your stories may have some value. Telling your stories, with the intention of clearing stagnant emotion, using tools like Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), can be powerful and transformational. Slowing your mind and deeply relaxing your body with VAT and Brainwave Entrainment can help you access the stories that you are ready to clear.

How do I know if someone is the right counselor for me?
This is your healing journey; you’ll want to work with a professional, who makes you feel comfortable. Trust your instincts in this. The first impression matters, your initial phone call or email can tell you a lot. We humans come in all types and with differing styles; what works well for one person may really not work for another. If it is not a good fit, most therapists can refer you to someone else, who may be a better match. The important thing is that you feel respected. Your hopes and fears, dreams and concerns are important; it is a privilege and honor to witness your journey.

Don’t be afraid to ask for what you need! If you generally like someone, but wish they would slow down or get to the point faster, say so. A healthy therapist will applaud you or at least make a strong effort to accommodate your needs.

About Meg
People who are ready to let go of stress and stifling or overwhelming emotion, find working with Meg an essential step toward living with ease, joy and confidence.

Meg has a passion for discovering and removing the barriers to health and happiness. She has a gentle, but direct style that quickly gets to the root of an issue.

Meg combines her clinical understanding of the origins of pain and the pathways to health with her knowledge of rhythm and tone, neuroacoustics, self-hypnosis, creative expression, and energy-based therapies. She draws on this powerful blend to help facilitate:

  • Stress management
  • Emotional resilience
  • Recovery from abuse, trauma and addiction

Equally exciting is the potential to reach optimal levels of performance and personal growth.

What you can expect in your first session with Meg?
I ask new clients to fill out a brief information sheet with some questions about background and goals. I’ll ask what brings you to see me and we’ll take it from there…I am prepared to go where you want to go as well as offer suggestions about what I see and hear. If you are unsure about what you want, because you have that “there’s something wrong, but I don’t know what it is” feeling, I’ll help you get to it – identify the problem areas and discuss options.

EFT is often part of the first session, because I’d like people to experience some relief as soon as possible and have a tool to use in-between sessions. I also teach breathing and calming exercises as well as body awareness techniques, as needed. If what you really need is to slow down and relax, you may have a vibro/neuroacoustic experience.

How many sessions will you need?
I am frequently asked this question and the short answer is “I don’t know,” but three to six sessions is not unusual, nor is weekly for a couple months. It really depends on what you have going on and how far/deep you want to go. I suggest you plan for three weekly sessions, and see how you feel. It takes about 21 days to break/build a habit. What new habits are you ready for?

About insurance…
I do not take medical insurance, at this time. I will provide a receipt that you may submit to your insurance company. If finances are an issue, talk with me about my sliding fee schedule.

“My first visit was so powerful…it made me want to get to the bottom of what was really causing my problems. For the first time in my life I was able to live life for me, and not the rest of the world. When life happens and I get stressed, a little tapping and some breathing, and my head is clear and I can think it through without a huge emotional outburst.” —M., age 26

“I am much more calm, and others around me respond to that in a very positive way. Meg has taught me awareness and techniques that I can always use to help myself regain balance.” —L., age 28

“By the end of the session, I could not remember why I was angry. Meg helped me save my marriage & my body. She has logic and common sense, and is a good sounding board. She clarifies issues, enough to stay with it and get through it.” —B., age 57

“My session was profound; I have no words.” —D., age 37

“Meg has the ability to choose just the right thing, at just the right time.” – C., age 58

“At the time I began, something just didn’t feel right. I didn’t know where to go or what to do. The music felt safe & comfortable. It made it easier to talk, pull out the things I needed to get to. I always feel better, sleep better.” – M., age 53

“Meg is awesome!” – E., age 14

“Working with Meg has been liberating for me; I’ve been surprised to learn how deeply rooted some of my feelings are, and relieved to learn how to let them go. She is like a beacon of light, illuminating the areas of my thinking that are unclear and counterproductive. I recommend her unequivocally.” – A., age 52

“You’re better than Valium.” – B., age 41
